Netlist Expands IP on Distributed Buffer DIMM Architecture

IRVINE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/25/13 -- Netlist, Inc. (NASDAQ: NLST), a leading provider of high performance memory solutions for the cloud computing and storage markets, announced today that it has received a long anticipated notice of allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for one of its patent applications covering core aspects of distributed data buffer memory module architecture.

Netlist filed a series of patent applications on the distributed data buffer memory module architecture over the last five years during an extensive undertaking to develop and produce its Hypercloud® product line. With 78% faster data throughput compared to competing memory modules at a fully loaded density, the HyperCloud® memory modules utilizing the distributed data buffer memory module architecture have been qualified by the world's largest server manufacturers. Netlist's distributed data buffer memory architecture -- as shown in one of the drawings in the recently allowed patent application (viewable here: http://media.marketwire.com/attachments/201307/172027_Distributed_Buffer_DIMM_Architecture.JPG) is also being broadly adopted by the industry for DDR4 memory standards.

"The development and qualification with major OEMs of the HyperCloud® product line has been a tremendous effort," said Netlist President and CEO, C.K. Hong. "This recent allowance provides further confirmation of the ground-breaking innovations in our products, which are the underlying reasons for their unparalleled performance advantage. The allowance of these claims also validates our ongoing patenting activities and the value we are building through our research and development investments."

Netlist has steadily invested in and grown its IP portfolio, which now includes 36 issued patents and 38 US and foreign pending patent applications in the areas of high performance and high density memory subsystems and hybrid memory technologies.
